Robert MacKenzie

Rob has been the President of Castle since inception in 1995. Prior to formation of Castle, he held positions as Director, Secretary/Treasurer, and Controller with various large volume corporations in the Automotive and Oil & Gas industries.  Rob is an active member of the Certified General Accountant Association of Alberta, the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and Advocis.  Other memberships include CALU and CAFE.

 

Rob was born in Gimli, Manitoba and settled down in Calgary, Alberta where he met his wife Sue.  Rob and Sue are proud supporters of the Calgary Flames and the Calgary Stampeders Football Club.  Rob enjoys his time golfing both at home and in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Rob graduated from the University of Calgary in 1983 with a Bachelor of Commerce.  He later obtained his Accounting designation in 1987 and in 1999 became a Certified Financial Planner.  

 

Donald Rutherford

Bsc., LLB, CLU, CFP

Don started in the financial field in 1984 with a background which included a Science Degree and a Law Degree from the University of Alberta.  Don obtained his Charted Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and in 1999 qualified as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).  Don is also a licensed Dealing Representative with Portfolio Strategies Corporation.

With his background, Don has focused his practice on Financial Planning, Estate Planning, and Managing Investments, mainly in Mutual Funds.  The investment management has evolved into active account management which has provided better returns for his clients.  It has been an easy decision to work past age 65 for Don since managing his own retirement funds coincided with the goals of his clients.

​Don and his wife Sharon were both born and raised in Saskatchewan and cheer for the Roughriders.  They are proud parents of three daughters and thoroughly enjoy family gatherings which now include five Grandchildren.
